Promised to cruel King Nøkkyn’s harem, Sol Eriksen is out of options, and nearly out of time.
When she meets a distractingly handsome stranger in the Ironwood Forest who claims to be a legendary monster, Sol thinks he must be a madman, or a demon. She knows she shouldn’t listen to him. Or trust him. And she should not, under any circumstances, kiss him again.
As King Nøkkyn’s grip around her tightens, Sol finds her last chance at freedom may lie with her mysterious new lover, the man who calls himself Fenris.

Review By Bubbles The Book Pimp
Short and sweet fantasy/mythological romance.
With the unfortunate death of her father, Sol’s family of lumberjacks have no way of meeting their quota of trees for the notorious King Nokkyn…with little in the way of money her remaining family of mother, brother and younger brother have no option but to offer Sol in payment.
With a bargain struck and a sad life ahead of her as a despised kings mistress Sol can only dread until the day comes for her to leave with the king…. and being abused by villages and branded a whore.. Sol finds herself escaping to the ironwood after a Vishous attack where she meets a naked man claiming to be Fenris. Escaping the misery that is her future she spends as much time as she can away with Fenris…not believing that he could be anything expect and man who has stolen her heart.
Part one in series of novellas. This was a great fantasy story. It’s a short and steamy read that sets the groundwork well as a series opener. Gaining the readers interest and creating anticipation at what is to follow in the future books.
We learn very little about Fenris and he is the most intriguing of characters a blend of innocent with a heaping dollop of protective lover.
I’m looking forward to seeing this series further develop and where the story is going.
