Micki is a self made woman… following the death of her husband, left with twin boys going off to college she had no choice but to step up and be mon and dad. By starting her own shop, the queen of wands…she finds a way to support herself and in doing so managed to touch the heart of her community. A nurturing and caring person… she can’t help but help the guy in the suit with his obvious discomfort in her shop. When they meet the stars are aligned and a feeling of kismet fills both Micki and David.
David knows of the queen of wands, his college age daughter has sent him them with a list of items for her and her friends new shared student accommodation… there isn’t anything DAVID wouldn’t do for his daughter… tasing her by himself following his divorce has given him purpose and he wants nothing but the best in life for her. But with Emily at college DAVID finds himself wanting more… and considers it time to see about his own happiness for a change. Even moreso when he meets Micki.
A truely wonderful and touchingly heartfelt story about an older couple!! And HUZZAH!!! An older couple as in 46 and 52!!! Not 30’s!! Kudos to you author for daring to write outside the romance realms and not going with the norm!!! And I loved every moment and interaction between the two main characters… they were witty and funny and emotive and filled with chemistry!
I adored David and Micki… they were so wonderfully constructed and I found both their internal thoughts both hilarious and touching. They were honest and real and wonderful to read.
I loved the no drama or angst and found it a refreshingly great read… because let’s face it there are enough drama llama Books out there filled with TSTL charachters that are unable to solve problems by having a simple 5 minutes conversation.
