First read by this author. The blurb had me intrigued so I dived in not really knowing what to expect… and Wow… what an explosive book.
Dark and gritty this is a dark and sexy little number… with a anti hero of a bad boy who you just can’t help but grow to love. I found myself slowly coming to like slate very quickly… he was so much more than expected and what my initial impression was of him… clever clever author… everyone loves a bad boy who is so much more than a bad boy… and he was a bad boy.. a thug, a criminal, domineering and pushy… and so so much more…a total marshmellow..but only for his girl 🖤🖤🖤
I really enjoyed watching slate and emeralds relationship develop, my focus…totally being on Emerald…she was tough and strong and I knew it was her front in keeping herself together… she was such a great character and I loved how despite everything going on she still gave slate as good as she got. The push and pull in their relationship was fantastic and my lawd some of those scenes 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This is a fantastic book, with a fast paced story and lots of action and a gripping story to boot.
Not wholly contemporary romance or dark romance it’s a magic blending of the best of both! And I for one cannot wait to see if more books follow after this book in a new series… because that would be fantastic 💯💯🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
