Review by Bubbles The Book Pimp
Nicole, Madison, and the countless other people online that Abby pretends to be are all bad…catfish… you’ve heard the term and know what one is… well living on the wrong side of the tracks and raising her younger brother, has made Abby focus all her time and energy into improving his life.
Abby has no goals or dreams for herself, she is resigned to be a waitress in a dingy strip club who is a scammer on the side…just a few more jobs and she will stop…she will have enough to pay for Colin to go to college.
Until one day, she gets a message from a guy…the created of the dating site she has been using…thinking it to be a scam, she replies.
This story was brilliantly original I really liked the concept. The scammers side to being a scammer…especially that Despite the amount of scams she pulled off her life didn’t seemingly become any easier… not getting greedy or caught. There was a great gritty atmospheric undertone that I really enjoyed to this book making it more feel almost real.
Abby was a likeable and lovable anti heroin and I felt her reasons for being a scam artist were believable. The story was a simple one but I felt the writer did it credit.
I loved that despite being a millionaire, Nolan has his own insecurities and self doubt. His and Abby’s interactions were light and fun and flirty.
A thoroughly enjoyable way to spend an afternoon reading.
Author Bio:
N. Franko is a reader of all things funny, romantic, magic, scary, dirty or nerdy-basically anything that’s words on a page.
A huge fan of authors like Chuck Palahniuk and Sophie Kinsella, she spent much of her days daydreaming of being an author while failing hard as a reporter and production artist for a small-town newspaper before taking the plunge and writing her first book, Technically Scripted.
When she’s not writing, she’s playing drums in a noisy synth-pop band with her rock star husband, annoyingly taking pictures of everything, drinking coffee or watching an obscene amount of television.
