So after a day of recovery I’m ready and somewhat recharged to talk about the Author event I attended yesterday.
When In Wales Author Event, Hosted by Eye Candy Bookstore and Author Amy Davies in the heart of Cardiff.
The first ( and I’m hoping not the last! ) of its kind to attend Wales and I for one was estactic to see the wonderful city getting some fantastic Author action…. Being an honorary Welshie ( albeit a Northern One )
With Around 50 Authors and Models in attendance, This event was fantastically organised and from an attendees point of view, ran seamlessly. With Multi spanning book Genres I was in a book readers paradise!!
The fact that this was a smaller event ( in the amount of readers attending ) did not diminish how great it was.
I was able to visit EVERY table and speak to ALL of the attendees on a one on one basis with very limited waiting around…my feet were thank full and so was my ever loving book pimping heart… the list of authors works to check out was a dream although my TBR pile has swollen 😂😂😂
The venue itself, The Mercure Cardiff Holland House, was really great with lots of room and space and easy walking distance to and from transport links, because lets face it you gotta save those legs and feet for the multiple trips around the function room!!
I wont complain about two bars or how lush and comfortable the ‘upstairs’ one was!
VIP tickets holders received early admission, A tote filled event swag bag with a attending author freebie read included 🙌🏻🙌🏻 And a packed lunch with the authors. No uneaten meals were wasted, they were given to Cardiff’s homeless 🖤🖤🖤
This event included a number raffles including ‘shirt of their back’ models Raffle which literally involved the prize winner receiving the worn t-shirt of the attending Models 😂😂😂, The Models were good sports for taking part with all the proceeds raised going to LATCH – Welsh Children’s Cancer Charity.
A personal highlight for myself was catching up with a longtime favourite Author of mine and longtime Facebook friend Theresa Hissong and meeting ‘new to me author’ Janey Rosen.
I appreciate their time and generosity so so so much…ladies thank you from the bottom of my heart 
you’ve helped me make some truly wonderful memories for which I will always treasure.
As a bit of a veteran to Author events, both in the US and UK, I would say that this one has been one of the best that I have EVER attended and considering I attended solo, I was made to feel wonderfully welcomed by all.
The fact I bumped into so many fellow readers, who I had the pleasure of meeting previously at other events made me so happy.
We are a community of friendship, inclusion for all and support. 🖤🖤🖤
I will say that with the eventual closing of a certain larger annual event ( to the UK at least ) that events like this will become more and more popular in demand. I understand the amount of time, blood, sweat and tears that go into such an event….but peeps give yourselves a massive well earned congratulatory pat on the back…YOU RAWKED IT…….I hope that the organisers would consider returning to do similar events in the coming years.
Because this my fellow book lovers was an event to attend!!
