EDEN (Eden #1 ) by Louise Wise

First read by this author and first in series

So whatever preconceived ideas I had about this book based on its title ( amanzon advertises it as a sci fi beauty and the beast ) was blown out of the window when I actually started this book.

Bodie, Matt and Jenny are on a mission, one of the first to expolore a planet that they have been researching for a number of years. Once they land on planet Eden they overwhelmed by its potential. They stumble across and crashed shit and that’s when they realise they are not the only inhabitants in the planet and things start to go down hill from there.

So much detail, thought and creativity has gone into this story and it truly shows. I was blown away by this book. The world building was vivid and stunningly detailed.

The characters had depth and layers, they were believable. Mood swings, kiddy tantrums and true asshole moments…but each one was another layer of ā€˜real’ for me. Nobody is perfect and that was a running theme in this book. Although I did eye twitch one or two times over the Matt and his douche canoe moments…
Another theme that continuous in this book was one of discrimination and intolerance of others, hate for hates sake. It was threaded through the story and added another dimension that some authors touch on but never really delve into, unlike this bad boy which took up the difficult topic with gusto!

Such a fast paced action packed book, filled with action, adventure and major feels ( despite one of the main charachters intolerance and lack of understanding of those FEELS) and just when I thought it couldn’t get any better The was a #wtf moment and #plottwist of champions at the end. šŸ™ŒšŸ»šŸ™ŒšŸ»šŸ™ŒšŸ»šŸ™ŒšŸ»

A true pleasure to read and I have already gotten the second book in the series to read.
